Mariano Chiacchiarini

At age 25, Mariano won the 1st prize at the Teatro Colón Conducting Competition and began his international career, leading him to collaborate with the most prominent conductors of today, such as Sir S. Rattle, P. Boulez, P. Eötvös, R. Chailly, R. Muti and B. Haitink. Despite his young age he has gained considerable experience with several of the most renowned orchestras and ensembles, such as the Tonhalle Zürich, Lucerne Festival Orchestras, Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana, Russian State Orchestra, Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, National de Lyon, German Radio Philharmonic, WDR and Ensemble Modern.
He has been invited to major festivals and concert halls, including the Lucerne Festival, Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, Young Euro Classic, Donaueschinger Musiktage, Elbphilharmonie, Konzerthaus Berlin, Tchaikovsky Hall in Moscow and l’Opéra Bastille. His Concert in China was chosen as Event of the Year and broadcast live worldwide. Since 2010 Mariano has served as Music Director of Trier University, since 2009 as Conductor of Ensemble Garage and in 2014 began as one of the Principal Guest Conductors of the National Symphony in Argentina. Mariano is winner of the ECHO Music Prize, the German Record Critics' Award and the KONEX Prize in Music. Most recently he was selected by Barbara Hannigan’s Momentum Project and named as new member of the German Music Council.
